Three wins in a row have the Dallas Stars on the cusp of eliminating the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 6 on Friday. Here are our expert Stars-Golden Knights prop picks and predictions based on the best NHL odds

The Dallas Stars (52-21-9) have dominated the Vegas Golden Knights (45-29-8) for most of their first-round series. They'll look for a third straight win at T-Mobile Arena in Game 6, which begins at 10 p.m. ET on TNT with the Stars favored across our best sports betting sites

Facing a must-win scenario at home, the defending champion Golden Knights must prevail to stay keep their Stanley Cup odds alive. Despite the Stars' strong showing, the series has been tightly contested, with three out of five games decided by just one goal, underscoring the fierce competition between the teams.

Accompanying our Canucks vs. Predators predictions, here are our best Stars vs. Golden Knights predictions and NHL picks (odds via our best NHL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Stars vs. Golden Knights predictions for Friday

Jake Oettinger Over 26.5 saves ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Oettinger has found his mojo, and that's made life exceptionally challenging for the Golden Knights.

Vegas hasn't exactly peppered the Stars' ace, forcing him to make at least 27 saves just twice in five games. Both of those occasions occurred at T-Mobile Arena, the Game 6 venue. Not only are the Golden Knights more aggressive at home, but they'll be as desperate as knights stripped of their knighthood.

It's unlikely Vegas will fill the net in Game 6, increasing the probability of the wager paying out. FanDuel offers -130 odds for Oettinger to make at least 26 saves. It's a slightly safer bet that would pay a profit of $7.69 on a $10 winner. If it hits, you'll make $8.70 on the recommended -115 wager at BetMGM.

Jack Eichel Over 3.5 shots ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Eichel has been the Golden Knights' best player, even superior to captain Mark Stones. The 27-year-old skates with long, rangy strides, often creating enough space to fire on goal.

He usually prefers to be a set-up man but should have a shoot-on-sight mentality in Game 6. Eichel has at least four shots in three of the five games and, like his team, will be desperate to make Oettinger put in an extra challenging shift.

He also had at least four shots in all three regular-season games against Dallas, including an eight-shot outing at T-Mobile Arena. At -120, FanDuel offers the best value. The probability of those odds is 54.55%, and a $10 winning wager pays an $8.33 profit.

Golden Knights Over 10.5 first-period shots ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Vegas needs to push the tempo from the opening puck drop. Expect the Golden Knights to follow a similar road map to Game 4, when they peppered Oettinger with 14 first-period shots.

I can't see the defending Stanley Cup champions going out with a whimper. If they are ousted on Friday, it will be because of Oettinger's heroics and not due to another insipid offensive display.

FanDuel offers -113 odds, the best value of our sports betting apps. If it hits, a $10 bet would profit $8.85 with an implied probability of 53.05%.
